The Design Editor: Global

Global Settings

This option opens the global settings window which allows the designer to choose many of the starting levels and conditions for the game. The global settings window can also be opened by using the keyboard short-cut CTRL+G.

NPCs

This option opens the Non-Player Character (NPC) Editor. The NPC Editor may also be opened using the keyboard short-cut CTRL+N.

Items, Keys, Quests

This selection opens the editor for Special Items, Keys and Quests.

Journal Entries

The Journal Editor is opened when this option is selected. The editor may also be opened by suing the keyboard short-cut CTRL+J.

Clear Design

This option is used to clear the current design. Be very careful when using this, it will remove all walls, backdrops, zones, events, entry points and starting point from your entire design.

Small Pic Pool

This option allows the designer to add small pictures and portraits to the pool of portraits available to the player when she creates her Player Characters (PC).

Icon Pool

By selecting this option the designer may add icons to the pool of icons available to the player when creating her PC.

Test Saved Design

This option leads to a sub-menu that affords the player the option to test the design from the current position with the default character ‘Super Spud’ (unless otherwise defined), or gives the designer the option to test the game from the start. While testing a design, all combats will have a “Win” option to allow the combat to be finished quickly with the party winning. Also while in test mode, area view will show if events are present in a particular cell.

Test Art Transparency

This selection allows the designer to test the transparency for a given piece of art chosen by the designer in the newly opened window.

Design Version

This displays the current designs version number.

Design Stats

This option provides statistics about different aspects of the current design, including number of events, NPCs, files used and design size, along with several others.

View Design Error Log

This option opens the design’s error log (if one exists) in the system’s default text editor.
