Fred W. Draper Was a Pioneer.

Fred Draper is no late comer for he goes on to say: “ I saw the first stump dug out of a highway in the town of Loyal. This was in the spring of ’73. It was the stump of a red oak tree and Jake Tynan and Jay Pierce were the men who dug it out. No, I was not born in Clark County but in Fond du Lac county. We came here in the month of November 1872. We settled near Loyal. My father held the first First Grade Certificate issued to any Clark Co. teacher. The Supt. Was E.J. Sawyer."

Sabrina Sandalinie Pierce:

Buried: Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron, Montrose, Colorado 25 26

Notes:

"Sabina" rather than "Sabrina" is on her gravestone. Marriage certificate says "Sabrina."

    --- Tynan, John (7 FEB 1853 - 31 JUL 1914)

Last Friday morning about 9 o'clock John Tynan accidentally received death near Medford, Wis. Mr. Tynan was on a load of lumber when his horses became frightened and ran away, throwing him off, the wagon passing over him just below the abdomen. Death resulted about one hour later.

John Tynan was born in Michigan Feb. 7, 1853. He came to this county (Clark County, Wis.) in the early sixties and was employed here a long time in the woods. About five years ago he was separated from his wife, who now resides at Spencer. He leaves to mourn his death the following children: Mrs. Frank Klaehn, who resides north of this village, Nellie of Oklahoma, John and Spencer of North Fond du Lac, who are both railroad engineers, and Sibil and Gennie, whose place of residence remains unknown. Besides there his death is mourned by a large number of relatives and friends.

The body was brought to Loyal Saturday and buried at the Loyal Cemetery Sunday. The funeral services were held from the M. E. Church, Rev. Thomas Harris officiating.

[This census lists Eugenie as "Eugene" and as a son.]

  34. Dorothy Denison, Papers received 13 May 2006.

Eugenia 'Jeanne' deserted her children, Ora and Haskel, at the train station. They were found by Grandpa Tynan there. They were 'adopted' and raised by John and Sabina. Haskel had a daughter - Eloise Tynan Cumming who was raised by Ora. Were the three children, Lucille, Verna and Buddy, ora's children or were they Eloise's ???? Haskel was in the 1st World War? (One of my notes says 2nd World War) and later committed suicide. Ora was last known to be living in the northwest. This information may be wrong as on the 1900 census I have that Ora was born in December 1894 and Haskel was born in Jan 1896.
