    Funeral services were held January 11 for Frank Henry Silkey, 89, of the Town of Weston, who died here January 9. The Rev. Gene W. Carlson officiated and burial was made in the Town of Weston Cemetery.

    Mr. Silkey, son of the late Frank and Johanna (Rabensdorf) Silkey, was born April 2, 1871, in Ashippun, Dodge County, where he received his education.

    On November 16, 1893, he was married to Susan Schaefer. Two children, Edwin and George, were born to this union. Following the death of his wife in 1901 he moved to Clark County, where he was married to Frances Chase in November, 1902. There were the parents of two children, Alfred and Mabel, both deceased. His second wife died in 1923. On October 16, 1924 he was married to Hattie Raymond, who survives.

    He farmed for many years in the Town of Weston, retiring in 1919.

    He is survived by his wife; two sons, Edwin of Neillsville, and George of Aberdeen, Wash.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Pallbearers were: Fred Buchholz, Robert Prochazka, lee Mills, Clarence Bardell, Frank Murphy and Jesse Richmond. “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Abide with Me” were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. Grant Slone.

    Out-of-town people attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Silkey and sons, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Silkey, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cornell, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koplitz, Owen; Mrs. Harold Koplitz, Owen; William Lavrence, Hixton; Mrs. Zella Asplin, Mrs. Ray Ampe and Mrs. George Scherer, all of Greenwood.

    Mabel Silkey was born Jan. 11, 1906 Town of Weston, Clark County, Wisconsin daughter of Frank H. Silkey and Frances S. Chase, she died 1952 She married Will Lawrence Abt. 1925 in Wisconsin. She was my 2nd. cousin 1x removed. Her mother was Semantha P. Barber. Merrylee Celius
