    Wilbert Sprecher

    Wilbert Frederick "Bill" Sprecher, 87, died at his Sauk City home Sunday evening, May 28, 1995 in the presence of his family. He had been in an extended period of failing health. Born Sept. 7, 1907 in Blackhawk, he was the son of Fred and Rose (Wintermantel) Sprecher. He married the former Marcella Felix of Honey Creek May 9, 1939 and farmed near Blackhawk until 1984. He was a member of the Blackhawk United Methodist Church his entire life, serving various offices and committees. He was a charter member of the Men's Brotherhood.
    Survivors are: His wife Marcella; children Wilmar (Marilyn), Maurice, Karen (Paul) Ladd and Marla, all living in the Sauk Prairie area; sisters Rosina (Cecil) McCready of Prairie du Sac and Ruth (Donald) Hehenberger of Sauk City; sister-in-law Argent Sprecher of Blackhawk; and grandchildren Michael and Kirk Sprecher and Tinothy Ladd.
    He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Viola and Howard Sorg and brother Clarence.
    Funeral services were Wednesday, May 31 at Blackhawk United Methodist Church, Pastor Dennis Weis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Gneikow-Hooverson Funeral Home assisted.
