PRAIRIE DU SAC - Carl A. Litscher, 78, died Sunday (Aug. 28, 1966) in a nursing home after a long illness.
He was born in Sauk City and farmed in the town of Honey Creek, until retiring in 1964 and moving to Prairie du Sac.
Surviving are his wife, Grace; two daughters, Mrs. A. E. Erickson, Neenah; and Mrs. Doris L. Gasser, in Japan, two sons, Lenard, Honey Creek; and David,Prairie du Sac; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Concordia Evangelical United Brethren Church. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman funeral home, Sauk City, and at the church after 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
"Grace worked on the farm and helped out at relatives when babies were born."
Prairie du Sac - Grace A. Litscher, age 91 died on Sunday, November 10, 1991 at the Sauk Prarie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on March 24, 1900 on the family farm in Troy Township near Black Hawk. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Sarah (Wintermantel) Sprecher. She married Carl A. Litscher on April 2, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1966. Over the years she enjoyed participating with the Sauk County Homemakers Club. She had a keen interest in and was supportive of the community. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, May Meng and Florence who died in a farm accident at age two; and a son, Lenard. She is survived by two daughters, Marion (Bud) Ericksen of Atlanta, Georgia, and Doris Litscher Gasser of Prairie du Sac; and a son, David Litscher of rural Prairie du Sac; 11 grandchildren; and a great grandson, Alex. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 1991 at 1:00 p.m. at Concordia United Methodist Church with Pastor David Hein officiating. Burial will follow at the Prarie du Sac Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, November 12, 1991 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at THE VAN DEVENTER FUNERAL HOME in Prairie du Sac.

PRAIRIE DU SAC - David George Litscher, age 79, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at Sauk Prairie Healthcare. He was born in the township of Honey Creek to the late Carl and Grace (Sprecher) Litscher.
David volunteered to serve for the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961, where he was stationed in Germany. David was married to Jane (Gruber) Litscher on Dec. 22, 1962. He was a proud farmer for his entire life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lenard Litscher.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Gruber) Litscher; sisters, Marion Ericksen and Doris Litscher-Gasser; sons, Bryan (Carol) Litscher, Rich (Jill) Litscher, and Nathan (Rebecca) Litscher; daughter, Suzanne; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and lifelong friends.
David's family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, particularly Dr. Sarah Niles and nurses Melissa and Cathy. He found peace and pride knowing he was to die on the property that was formerly his farm.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, Wis., with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the church.
