DONALD H., went to his heavenly home on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011. He was born Aug. 16, 1920 in Okanogan, WA. Don is survived by his loving wife, Lynn of Satellite Beach, FL, daughter Cheryl, son-in-law
Jeffrey Cotter and granddaughters; Alyson, Joanna and Jacey Cotter, all of Orlando. Always the gentleman, Don never knew a stranger and was a kind, compassionate and generous man. Don entered the army at 21 as 2nd Lt. after graduating from Wash. State Univ. He served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam, earning many medals/awards of distinction, including the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. He attended the US Army Command and General Staff College, US Army War College and Harvard Business School's Adv. Mgmt Program. He received a Masters in Int'l Affairs from George Washington Univ. After 30 years in the army, Don worked at Kennedy Space Center until retiring in 1986. At WSU he was quarterback and captain of the football team, president of TKE fraternity and president of WSU student body. He was an avid golfer, still playing this summer. Don was an active member of the Patrick Air Force Base Chapel, life member of The American Legion, The Grand Lodge of F&A.M, Okanogan, WA and The Military Officers Assoc. of America, Cape Canaveral Chapter. Memorial services will be held 2pm on Sunday, Nov. 6th at the South Patrick Chapel, 854 Harrier Ave, Satellite Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Army Emergency Relief fund.
