Simon GATES

According to the will of his father Stephen Gates (b. 1599) Simon and his mother received the
place at Cambridge and his (Stephen's) son Thomas was to remain with them at his pleasure.

Simon married Margaret Barstow  daughter of George Barstow and Susanna Marrett in 1671 in Cambridge, Suffolk, MA. Margaret was born on 24 Feb 1648/1649. She was christened on 24 Feb 1649 in Brookline,  Mass. She died on 13 Apr 1707 in Brookline, Suffolk, MA.

GEORGE BARSTOW, a member of the Artil. Co., 1644, had land granted to him in Dedham in 1642; was a householder of Scituate in 1652, and member of the 2d church.  The next year he returned to Camb., where he d., Aug. 18, 1652.  He m. Susannah, dr. of Dea. Thomas and Susannah Marrett, of Camb. Where she d. Ap. 17, 1654.

George bap. In Scit., June 12, 1652.  Jan. 1690, “George Bairsto,” aged 36, was wit. in court at Camb.  George, son of George and Mary “Basto,” b. in Rox., Aug. 1687.
